If they haven’t done so already, your friends should join AOPA and ask for the Mexico Flight Planning Guide to Mexico and package -- available to members at a reasonable price.

They should also join the Baja Bush Pilots. They have an excellent book out titled “Airports of Mexico” along with some maps, again at reasonable prices.

There is a lot of interesting information on both of those sites.
